Coordinating the Working Group Governance of the European network of Environmental and Sustainable Development Advisory Councils (EEAC): preparation of a policy statement on Impact Assessment in the EU (2006) and a study on the governance of long-term decisions (2009). Responsible for rural development policies, cross-sectoral policies concerning the rural areas, incl. water management, agriculture, zoning for military and excavation etc., and in particular the Green Heart policy (open space between the Netherlands' largest cities), Wadden Sea protection policy, incl. Natural gas drilling policy. Managing the unit (ca. 20 staff).
President of the Transnational Working Group Flood prevention Rhine-Meuse (Interreg 2A, delegations of six countries), 1996 and 1997. Delegate of the Ministry to the trilateral Wadden Sea Treaty Conference.
Expert for the Council of Europe in missions to Russia and Romania/Bulgaria (1994/95).
